Arrival and Dismissal

Supervision for students begins at 8:15 am. Students who need to be dropped off before this time should sign up for the Extended Day program.

Arriving by Car:

  • Students should be dropped off at the front of the school.
  • Parents driving through the drop off lanes or anywhere in the school parking lot should not be on cell phones. Parents need to drive slowly and should always be focused on safety. Please do not use cell phones while driving on campus.

Arriving by Bike:

  • Students need to lock their bicycles in bike area by the pavilion.
  • All bike riders should wear helmets and follow all safety rules and cross guards. All bikes should have a lock and should be secured by the student upon arrival at school.

Walking to School:

  • Students need to follow all safety rules and be sure to listen to school crossing guards. Students should never attempt to cross the street by themselves. Students should walk on the main path and should not take shortcuts as they may not be safe.

Upon arriving on campus, all students will report to their designated spot in the pavilion. Students will remain seated in the pavilion under the supervision of the staff on duty.

If a student needs to eat breakfast at school, they need to arrive on campus between 8:15 and 8:30 and report to the cafeteria.

The first bell rings at 8:40. At this time students begin entering the classroom.

The tardy bell rings at 8:45. If your child arrives on campus after 8:45, they are tardy and will need to report to the office. Do not drop your child off in the car areas after this time. You will need to park your car and walk your child into the office to sign them in to school.

Dismissal Procedures

Car Pick-up:

  • All car riders will wait at their grade level designated spot in the front of the school.
  • Adults picking up the students must display the CAR TAG on their dashboard as they go through the car line. As the car approaches the building, the student's name will be called and a pick up post number will be assigned. Students will then meet their car under their assigned post number.
  • If an adult does not have the CAR TAG in their car, they will be asked to park and enter the office to present identification and sign out the child.
  • Parents driving through the drop off lanes or anywhere in the school parking lot should not be on cell phones. Parents need to drive slowly and should always be focused on safety. Please do not use cell phones while driving on campus.

Change In Dismissal:

  • Any changes in dismissal must be made in writing and be signed by the parent.
  • An adult must be listed on a student's form in order to pick that student up from school.  Adults can be added to a student's pick-up list at any time by visiting the front office.

Stormy Day Dismissal:

  • In the event of unsafe weather, students will be dismissed according to the plan filled out by the parents the first day of school. Students will not be allowed to walk or ride their bike home if there is lightning in the area.
  • In the event of severe weather close to the school, school personnel may determine it is not safe to allow students outdoors at all. In this case, parents would have to go to the office and sign the waiver release form for the student to be released to them.  As soon as school personnel determine the lightning has moved far enough away, dismissal will begin in the normal fashion.
  • Please be patient during stormy day dismissals. Our main goal will always be the safety of all of the children at the school.
