My dearest Navigators,

I am so very proud of our teachers, teams, and YOU (and your supportive families) as you have all worked tirelessly to end our year as strong as it began.  As I look back at our year, I am so grateful that we celebrated along the way.  The year began in the fall with the kickoff to “Let the Good Times Roll”, with over 90% of our families coming to Meet Your Teacher.  Our house rally highlighted students who met their goal of showing growth last year and the celebrations continued through the holidays with the Bayou Blast- and it was a blast!  Little did we know that our Big Blast, sponsored and organized by our amazing PTA, and Field Day, orchestrated by our talented and dedicated Coach Brands and his team, would be one of the last times that we would have a “family celebration” this year.  Endeavor is a special place, and that is because each of you share your talents and the belief that together we can accomplish anything, that everyone contributing their talents for the good of all is something of utmost importance.  I am so grateful for those many experiences and cherished memories.

Following Spring Break we began the first regular Distance Learning school day. I know this was also a bit uncomfortable and that we missed seeing each other, but what did not change is our commitment to you; our Navigator family.  While it was in no way a substitute for our Navigators being at school, it was a way to help to keep you engaged academically and to keep up the excellent momentum we were making prior to spring break. YOU, our brilliant students, were led by some of the most energetic, talented educators I have ever seen. Combined with support from parents and families, Distance Learning was successful, though it could never be a substitute for being together every day.

I believe that given the challenges of these past few weeks we rose to the occasion and that our actions have supported the belief that our mission is to ENSURE that all Navigators have a promising and successful future.  I know that our future is bright and may our good times continue!

With admiration and gratitude,

Dr. Amanda Ellis
